Charts overview
Charts gives you a hierarchical view of your organisation model.
Use it when you need to inspect reporting structure, identify placement anomalies, or communicate proposed structural changes.
Where to open charts
- Live baseline:
/charts - Scenario context: scenario-prefixed charts route
- Snapshot context: snapshot-prefixed charts route (read-only)
What charts shows
Charts renders:
- company/department/team hierarchy nodes
- actor cards (people, agents, robots) where relevant
- rollup context and visual structure depth
- unassigned bucket node for unplaced items
Toolbar controls
Charts includes practical controls for day-to-day analysis:
- search
- root org unit selector
- type/kind filters
- primary-only toggle
- show-costs toggle
- zoom in/out/reset
- layout mode (top-down, left-right, radial)
- PNG export
Use root selection plus filters to isolate one branch quickly without losing context.
Context awareness
Charts respects current context label and editability:
- Live baseline: editable
- active scenario: editable unless scenario is read-only
- snapshot/archive: read-only
In read-only contexts, edit controls are hidden, but navigation and analysis still work.
Best-use workflow
- Start with top-level hierarchy check.
- Narrow with root + filters.
- Inspect unassigned and unexpected node density.
- Switch to edit mode (if available) for modeling changes.
- Export a PNG for stakeholder communication.
Common mistakes
- treating charts as only a picture instead of a modeling surface
- skipping root/filter narrowing on large orgs
- interpreting stale placement issues without checking scenario context
